To ensure a complete air tight seal, move the white Sure-Zip™ slider to one edge touching the raised 'bubble stop'. Using finger pressure, squeeze and run the slider across the zipper to the opposite 'bubble stop'. Repeat this action at least twice, then proceed with the next vacuum step.
Sometimes when you pack baby clothes or manchester, the seal in the Space Bag® can become ‘unstuck’. This can be due to the oils that are in the fabrics. If this does occur, simply wipe the seal with a clean cloth or paper towel and re-seal.
Remember not to over fill your Space Bag® as this can also undo the seal.
Three design features work together to create the airtight seal and maintain the vacuum in Space Bag®.
The most common enemies of stored items are dirt, mildew, insects and water, along with oxidation and ultraviolet light. Oxidation causes discoloration and accelerates the spread of any stains present in fabric. Vacuum-sealing drastically reduces the effects of oxidation and retards growth of mildew. Most importantly, vacuum-sealing compresses many items and saves valuable storage space.
Approximately 12 months, after which the bag can be resealed.
Do not use Space Bag® to store food items or items made of leather or fur. If you have questions regarding the effects of vacuum-storage on a specific item, check with the manufacturer.
Precaution: Feather, down and wool-filled items should only be compressed 50% as further compression can damage feathers and clump wool fibers. Do not store food, leather or animal fur.
Space Bag® should be stored in areas where temperatures will not exceed 130 degrees F. (54 C) or fall below 32 degrees F.(0 C)
Every six months, air out and restore loft by fluffing or tumbling in dryer set on “cool.”
The Sure-Zip™ closure system is sturdy but it can be jarred or flexed open with rough handling. To make sure the Space Bag® seal holds, do not hold or carry the sealed bag near the zipper. Carry the bag vertically (zipper up) to minimize stress on the closure system. Hold at or near the middle of the bag and store the bag vertically (zipper up) or lying flat.
Everyday household storage of “soft” items such as pillows, comforters, linens, sweaters, etc., is the most common use.
Polyethylene plastic, like the zipper on a sandwich bag. The main difference is that a sandwich bag zipper is not air tight. The Space Bag® zipper is airtight and watertight.

With some upright Dyson models in Australia the end of the wand fits inside the Turbo valve not allowing the valve to open. Remove the wand attachment completely and use the connection that fitted into the wand as the connection to the Space Bag® valve.
